On the Mindful Trader website and in Mindful Trader email correspondences, I talk a lot about my back tested results. When I say I did a "back test", it means that I took my trading strategies and applied them against historical stock market activity to see how the trades could have performed. Back tested results are not my live trading results. The results of the back tests certainly do not guarantee future results. Also, back tests might not compensate properly for market events such as a sudden lack of liquidity among other things. I've tried to carefully account for these considerations, but there is no way for me to be certain that back tests accurately reflect what live results would have been since they weren't actual live trades.
It's highly recommended that subscribers "paper trade" when starting the service, which refers to trading in an account with fake money. This allows subscribers to get practice with the stock picks in an environment where real money is not at risk.
Here is the disclaimer that I'm required to give you by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) among others. I highly advise that you read it and understand it:
Futures, equities, and options trading have large potential rewards, but also large potential risk. You must be aware of the risks and be willing to accept them in order to invest in the futures, equities, or options markets. Don't trade with money you can't afford to lose. There is substantial risk involved in trading and it is not suitable for all investors. A loss incurred in connection with futures trading can be significant and you can lose all or more of your initial investment.
No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those discussed on this website. The past performance of any trading system or methodology is not necessarily indicative of future results. Proceed at your own risk.
With my trading I DO take losses. That means that with my trading picks there will be losses. I choose to keep trading even after losses because I want to mimic the back-tested approach. But it's up to you whether to follow my alerts. You control your decision to trade. I don't control your decision to trade. I just tell you when I'm trading. And when I trade, there are losses, sometimes strings of losses that shrink my account balance noticeably.

As per CFTC rule 4.41: Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.
