Mindful Trader Commentary For March 8, 2023

Hey Guys,

The market had a rough day yesterday. The S&P 500 dropped a lot and is now sitting around 3,990.

The good news for me is that I didn't have a ton of open positions, so it didn't have too big of an impact on my overall portfolio balance. I locked in a lot of profits before the drop.

I only took on one new position today. It was a futures trade in the main account. I also posted its stock equivalent for those who don't want to trade futures. You can see it listed a little lower down the page with the ticker SPXL. That allows you to follow the trade with a normal stock trading account.

You'll notice that I put "MT 71 Strategy" in the Special Instructions column for the futures trade. That's not really an instruction. It's just a note for those interested as to which strategy got triggered.

My trading has been light this week. If you're looking for more trade ideas, you can always check out the Triggered List. There is a section there for the Low-Priced Account, which is one I no longer actively trade since I was getting spread too thing trying to take on so many accounts. But it's still a source of trade ideas that have a back-tested edge. You can see that PCOR triggered today for a trade.

I manually closed my stock position for CME this morning since it reached its time limit. It ended up with a small loss.

If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
