Mindful Trader Commentary For March 3, 2022

Hey Guys,

The market is up some this morning. It's right at the top of a range that it's been in for the last 5 days. Let's see if it breaks through that ceiling or stays within the range.

I had a handful of positions close for profits this morning. Two stocks reached their time limits: HTHT from the main account and FOX from the low-priced account. Both locked in solid profits, and FOX's profit included a dividend as icing on the top.

One of my futures trades hit its profit target overnight as well. The corresponding stock equivalent trade has not yet reached its profit target though. I personally like to leave positions open until they reach the pre-planned profit target. It makes trading easy and automated, and it removes discretion. With that said, you can certainly do whatever you want with your trades, and if you want to lock in a profit before the profit target is reached, that's completely your call. You have my full support regardless. These trades exhibit raw edge in back tests, so exiting anywhere in the general profit spectrum will still fall in line with the back-tested edge.

There have been no new trades today. I bought CAKE in the low-priced account yesterday mid-morning and that one is still around the same price as when I bought it. It's kind of fun buying stocks for companies that I love as a consumer. Their lemon raspberry cheesecake is so delicious...

I have options positions that are reaching their time limits today. I will be closing those at the end of the trading session today like normal.

If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
