Yesterday after the calm start to the day, the market plunged down some. The S&P 500 is down near 4100 as of right now. This market type is one where at any moment, even midday after the typical heavy morning activity, there could be a strong thrust one direction or the other.
I picked up some new positions today. In the main account, I bought stock positions for PFE and AMGN. I bought the options for those tickers in the extra options account. And in the low-priced account I bought a stock position for PARA. It feels nice to see some solid trading action today after so many days in the last couple weeks that were quiet. I'm welcoming these trades with open arms.
I have an option position for MRK that is reaching its time limit today. For options trades that reach their time limits, I like to close them at the end of the trading session. So I plan to close the MRK option position shortly before 1pm Pacific Standard Time today if it doesn't hit its profit target or stoploss before then.
