Mindful Trader Commentary For January 13, 2025

Hey Guys,

The market is still experiencing turbulence. The S&P 500 is down again this morning and is below the 5,800 mark for the first time since the days immediately prior to the election.

I'm in a pretty solid position considering the market drop. I don't have very many positions open, which limits my risk exposure.

My BA stock trade reached its time limit today, so I manually closed it at the opening bell. That one ended up in the profit column despite the rest of the market being down.

I've taken on just one new trade today. I took on another helping of AVGO in the Stocks Account.

That means I now have two different positions for AVGO in the same account. The way I handle them is I treat them like completely independent trades. They each have separate exit rules. So even though they are for the same ticker, I manage them separately, just like any other trade. The reason I took two separate positions is because that ticker qualified each of my two trading strategies: the Main Pullback and the Double Down.

If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
