Hey Guys,
The market had its first big red day in about three weeks yesterday. The S&P 500 went down 50 points.
A lot of my positions went down in value with it. I had two stock positions (SRE and XEL) hit stop losses this morning. The SRE position had a dividend to help soften the blow, but still, this is clearly not a profitable start to the week.
What I try to remember is that the market does this all the time. We haven't had a taste of it in a while, but it's not abnormal to see positions that are unprofitable. Not only that, but given that the market has shown so much strength lately, it wouldn't be a surprise for the market to rebound out of this. There's no way to no for sure, though.
I took on some new positions today. In the stocks account, I bought positions for TDOC and ALL. In the options account, I bought options for EPD and TDOC, both of which were below $2.00 per contract.
If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
