Hey Guys,
The market is at about the same spot as it was yesterday when I emailed. There seem to be a lot of tech stocks that are pulling back right now.
I bought VEEV and ANSS in the main account today and I bought RIVN and HTZ in the low-priced account. No options trades are on the books yet today, but I have buy limit orders set up for tickers on the watch list.
There haven't been any trades that have closed yet today. But yesterday that JKHY trade did hit the stoploss right after I sent the morning email.
You never know when you're going to get into a trade that takes you straight down like that (or straight up), although the odds of it happening are higher if the company has just reported earnings. In back tests, earnings day trades have an even higher back-tested profitability than the rest, so I typically don't hesitate to get into those trades. But they come with volatility, like we saw yesterday with JKHY.
I have two options trades that reached their time limits today, so I'll be closing those near the end of the trading session today. That trade on UL has been interesting. Each day since I bought the position, the stock has gone down overnight, and then gone up during normal market hours. Apparently the two sides of the world are in disagreement about whether to buy or sell that ticker. Maybe it will go up one more time during today's session and get us out with a profit.
If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
