Hey Guys,
The market had an enormous range yesterday, exhibiting major volatility. If you take the difference between the high and the low of the S&P 500 yesterday, it was about 8% of its value. That's a huge fluctuation in value over the course of a single day for the entire S&P 500.
The market gapped up overnight and is up this morning. The gap up was by more than 100 points, which has been feeling like a "normal" amount lately.
My stock trade for HDB hit its profit target this morning. It actually gapped up and gave me a profit that was two times the amount I was targeting. It's nice to get a victory locked in after so much turmoil in that account over the last week.
I had a couple option positions regain a lot of their value after being down big, too. But with the level of volatility in this market right now, there's no telling where they'll end up. As always, I'm not so focused on each individual trade's outcome as I am with honoring the backtested trading approach and making sure I'm following the rules properly. So regardless of what happens with those trades, I won't exit them until they meet one of my exit criteria.
There haven't been any new trades yet today in either the stocks account or the options account..
If you have any questions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
